Rector, University of Coimbra

Amílcar Falcão is the Rector of the University of Coimbra, where he is a Full Professor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, a Ph.D., and the title of Associate Professor in Pharmacy from the University of Coimbra (UC). He has served as Director of the School of Pharmacy, Director of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research, and Vice Rector. He has an extensive scientific output, with more than 230 published articles and 5,000 citations, and has received numerous national and international awards. He is also Technical Director of ICNAS Produção, having participated in the development of the first radiopharmaceutical registered in Portugal.

Luísa Magalhães holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the School of Biotechnology at the Portuguese Catholic University and a master’s degree in Environmental Diagnostics from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. She began her professional career as a consultant on national and international projects and later held positions at the Lisbon City Council and Lisboa E-Nova. Since 2016, she has served as Executive Director of the Smart Waste Portugal Association, where she works in the areas of waste management, sustainability, and the circular economy.

Sílvia Ricardo

Head of the Waste Department, APA

With a degree in Environmental Engineering, she joined the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) in 2011, in the Waste Department, where she worked on specific waste stream management. Between 2020 and 2024, she served as Head of the Waste Information Management Division, responsible for drafting the National Waste Plans and managing waste-related data. Since May 2024, she has served as Head of the Waste Department.

Professor of Environmental Law, FDUC – UC

Alexandra Aragão is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and a researcher at the Faculty’s Legal Institute, where she coordinates the research line on Ecological Transitions. A specialist in European environmental law, she is a member of several international networks, including Avosetta.org and the Advisory Board of the European Environmental Law Forum, and serves as an ambassador for SDG 16 of the Portuguese Partnership for the Global Compact.

Laura Costa

Head of Environmental & Circularity - The Navigator Company

A chemical engineer with a degree from FCTUC, she has been with Navigator since 1994. With a career focused on product development, management systems, and the environment, she held corporate coordination responsibilities in these areas from 2016 to 2024. Since 2025, she has served as the company’s Director of Environment and Circularity.

Environmental and Sustainability Manager, CTCV

With a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of Aveiro, she has been part of the Technological Centre for Ceramics and Glass (CTCV) since 1993, where she is responsible for the Environment and Sustainability area. She coordinates projects in sustainability, life cycle assessment, circular economy, and environmental management, and is a trainer and accredited auditor for the ISO 14001, EMAS, and ISO 50001 standards.

Her research focuses on coastal and oceanic systems, with a particular emphasis on the environmental quality of estuarine and coastal environments, contamination by pollutants, and ecotoxicological effects. She also develops environmental remediation solutions using plants, macroalgae, and microalgae, as well as conducting research in the areas of biodiversity, environmental risk, and resource management.

[Nome do Orador] — António Redondo will headline the opening session of F!Next 2026 - INOVAÇÃO@UC on the 21st in Figueira da Foz.

António Redondo, CEO of The Navigator Company, is the first confirmed keynote speaker for F!Next – INOVAÇÃO@UC Edition, which will take place October 20–22, 2026, at the Figueira da Foz Industrial and Business Park, at the future SCALESOCEANS facilities. António Redondo will take the stage on the second day of the event, October 21, at 10:30 a.m., to reflect on the future of Portuguese industry and how domestic companies can anticipate change, incorporate technology, invest in innovation, and, at the same time, strengthen their competitiveness in an increasingly demanding economic and geopolitical context.
